Policy Analyst, Member Relations

We are currently recruiting a Policy Analyst to conduct research and policy analysis on key issues for the association including equity, diversity and inclusion, accessibility, social impact and student experience. In addition, working in collaboration with the events and member relations specialist, the incumbent provides support for membership meetings, workshops and professional development programs.

Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy or in one of the social sciences.
- Two to three years of relevant experience or one to two years with a master’s degree.
Knowledge
- Strong computer skills, including prior experience working with CRM.
- Familiarity with the university system and environment, an asset.
Abilities/Qualities
- Strong analytic and research functions.
- Ability to write cogently and succinctly.
- Ability to research, analyze, understand and explain issues and events in policy fields.
- Bilingualism.
- Strong management/administration/organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative and to work independently.
- Judgement, tact and diplomacy.
The position is based in Ottawa. Universities Canada has adopted a hybrid work model where employees are expected to work in the office a minimum of three (3) out of ten (10) days and four (4) days out of ten as of September 4, 2023.
The hiring salary range for this position is from $55,965 to $65,584 depending on experience. Candidates who do not meet all of the position requirements may be considered in an underfill capacity, in which case the candidate would be hired at a lower level than the position level.
