Scotiabank Centre for Customer Analytics launched in 2016, and brings together professors and students to collaborate with the bank’s teams on applied research in customer analytics.

Centre for Advanced Computing (CAC) at Queen’s, including a consortium of universities, is a high performance data centre and part of the Compute Canada family. CAC complies with a variety of standards including ISO 27002 and PHIPA to protect the data it hosts, such as personal health information.

Cognitive Development Hub, part of CAC, is a professional software design and development lab for data analytics and cognitive computing applications.

The IBM Canada Smith Cognitive Computing Centre is a collaborative space that provides an exclusive artificial intelligence demonstration experience for IBM clients and partners in Canada.

Grands projets

Surveillance Studies Centre conducts research on expanding surveillance practices, globally and locally, and the vulnerabilities generated by big data surveillance. $2.5M support from SSHRC.

Integrative Data Analysis for Predictive Modeling In Biomedical Computing Dr. Parvin Mousavi leads research developing innovative methods for analyses and integration of medical images, omics data, and publically available databases to augment decisions on disease prognosis. NSERC.

Enabling elastic services: An NSERC Strategic Project, led by Dr. Patrick Martin, focuses on producing new technologies to enable Canadian software developers to create highly adaptable systems on top of an integrated services platform.

Dr. Yuri Levin, Professor & Stephen J.R. Smith Chair of Analytics; Director, Scotiabank Centre for Analytics, is focused on consumer behavior modeling and optimization of pricing and developed corporate training programmes in strategic analytics, analytical decision making, and strategic pricing optimization.

Dr. David Murakami Wood, Canada Research Chair in Surveillance Studies, examines the place of security and surveillance in “smart city” initiatives in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Dr. Parvin Mousavi, Professor, School of Computing, is focused on machine learning techniques for in silico inference and prediction analysis of ultrasound images and signals for enhancement of cancer detection.

Dr. Patrick Martin, Professor, School of Computing. Research interests include big data analytics, cloud computing, database system performance, and self-adaptive software systems.
