Principales installations

Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation: Advances value-added areas of nuclear innovation in medicine, materials research, power generation and environmental stewardship.

STOR-M Tokamak: A magnetic fusion laboratory for studies on plasma heating, anomalous transport, and developing novel tokamak operation modes.

Centre for the Study of Science and Innovation Policy: Enhances research on policy and governance dimensions of science and innovation by drawing together researchers and stakeholders from scientific and humanistic fields.

Grands projets

Creation of High Efficiency Organic Photovoltaic Cells: Focuses on the perovskite solar cell—a viable alternative to conventional crystalline silicon technology now in common use.

Heat and Moisture Exchangers for Energy Efficient Buildings: Focuses on developing new technologies that address economic and environmental needs by reducing energy consumption, costs and environmental impacts of heating/cooling buildings.

Transforming Low-Grade Oils into Fuel: Focuses on converting vegetable oil into biodiesel using solid acid catalysts and producing no byproducts other than glycerol. The result is a biodiesel that uses significantly less water and is environmentally friendly.

NSERC/SaskPower Senior Industrial Research Chair in Smart Grid Technologies: Helps Canada achieve a safe, reliable and sustainable power grid that incorporates renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, to significantly reduce emissions.

USask Flagship Program in Renewable Energy in Northern, Remote, and Indigenous Communities: The world’s first multi-sectoral partnership tackling policy challenges and barriers to renewable energy deployment in northern and Indigenous communities.
