St. Mary’s University joins Universities Canada

OTTAWA – Universities Canada today welcomed Calgary, Alberta’s St. Mary’s University to its membership, effective immediately. During its fall membership meeting, Universities Canada’s members approved St. Mary’s University’s application, making it the 97^th member of the national association.

“I am pleased to welcome St. Mary’s University to our association,” said Paul Davidson, president of Universities Canada. “As we advance Canada’s universities as the pre-eminent hubs of the talent and research that serve all Canadians, we will greatly benefit from St. Mary’s joining with universities across the country as we advance higher education, research and innovation.”

Located on a historic site in Calgary, Alberta, St. Mary’s University inspires students to combine academics with a passionate commitment to ethics, social justice and respect for diversity of opinion and belief. St. Mary’s has 1,025 full and part-time students, 80 full and part-time faculty, and an average class size of 25. The university is an innovative teaching and research university that provides affordable, accredited and highly valued degrees in liberal arts, sciences and education.
