Universities welcome search for Canada’s new Chief Science Advisor
OTTAWA – Canada’s universities are pleased with today’s launch of the search for Canada’s new Chief Science Advisor. Minister of Science Kirsty Duncan opened the competition at the National Research Council in Ottawa this morning.
“The Chief Science Advisor, supported by a team of scientists and policy experts, will play an important role in supporting science in Canada and promoting evidence-based decision making across government,” says Paul Davidson, president of Universities Canada. “University researchers and scholars from all disciplines look forward to working with the successful candidate toward the development of sound public policy in Canada.”
Creating this new position was an important part of the Science Minister’s mandate letter.
The full job description and how to apply is located on the Governor in Council website. Candidates must apply online by the end of January 2017.
