Brock Carlton, CEO, Federation of Canadian Municipalities: When I ask the question how many university presidents have regular meetings with their mayors, most people in the room put their hand up, which is a really good signal that – that both the Mayor and the President recognize the importance of the relationship and they recognize the importance of leadership, their leadership in knitting that relationship together.

Dave Jaworsky, Mayor, Waterloo: We work with our universities essentially on a daily basis through our committees, through investments with them in entrepreneurship and in everything that we do.

Dave Jaworsky: And we have all those kinds of partnerships with our LRT construction, experts at the universities, and our great business school at Laurier that we bring in on a regular basis, and it’s thanks to that we have a great city.
