Dalhousie Faculty of Computer Science exceeds goal to double enrolment of female students
The number of female students entering first-year Computer Science at Dalhousie jumped 144% between 2016 and 2018. The dean of the Faculty of Computer Science credits the collaborative efforts of the university, industry, and the Nova Scotia school system for this success.
Women in Technology scholarships sponsored by industry and the Faculty were awarded to 32 women entering the class of 2018. This unique award features financial support, as well as mentoring from women tech leaders, co-ops, networking opportunities, and student peer mentoring.
