EngiQueers Canada creates an inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ students

A student initiative called EngiQueers Canada with 31 chapters across 9 provinces aims to foster more diversity in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The group offers inclusivity training and presentations on the benefits of diversity, giving engineers an opportunity to reflect on the fundamentals of intersectionality.

The organization also has a network of chapters across the country that provides a platform for communication, sharing best practices and knowledge, and helping others solve organizational problems. The organization connects chapters to local LGBTQ+ engineering professionals who wish to share their expertise in school visits, panel discussions, and other professional events.

Engiqueers aims to provide social connection, education and advocacy, and professional development, improving the state of diversity and inclusion in Canada.
